DIY Personal Care

I promise you, if you can think it, you can DIY it.

Toothpaste, handsoap, mouthwash, who knew there were so many things you can DIY? Here are a few recipes to help you incorporate more items to help your system get clean!

DIY Sun Skin Serum


  • 1/4 cup unrefined organic jojoba

  • 20 drops Frankincense or Sandalwood

  • 15 drops Myrrh essential oil

  • 10 drops Lavender essential oil


Mix until everything is incorporated. Store in a glass jar & apply as needed.

Purifying Hand Sanitizer


  • 2 oz. amber glass spray bottle

  • ½ oz. organic witch hazel

  • ¼ tsp Vitamin E

  • 15 drops each of Purification & Lavender Essential Oil

  • Distilled water


  1. Fill bottle ½ full with witch hazel, add vitamin E & essential oils.

  2. Pour in enough distilled water to fill just at the start of bottle neck.

  3. Shake & spray on hands as needed.

DIY Foaming Hand Soap


  • 1/3 cup unscented liquid castile soap

  • ½ tsp organic jojoba

  • 2/3 cup distilled water

  • 10 drops Ylang Ylang

  • 6 drops Patchouli

  • 4 drops lavender

  • (Or just use Melrose)


Place all in a hand pump glass container

Cleansing Toothpaste


  • 1/3 cup unrefined organic coconut oil

  • 1 Tbsp. baking soda

  • 1 Tbsp. bentonite clay

  • 45 mg. stevia extract

  • 6 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

  • 2 drops Lemon Essential Oil


  1. Using a wooden spoon, press & stir until most coconut chucks are gone & everything is combined. (Do not use metal: it will deactivate the clay)

  2. Store in glass jar. Rinse your toothbrush & sink with warm water afterward due to coconut oil.

DIY Mouthwash


  • 15 drops Peppermint essential oil

  • 5 drops Thieves essential oil

  • 5 drops Wintergreen essential oil

  • 5 drops Lemon essential oil

  • 3 drops Spearmint essential Oil

  • 1 tsp liquid aloe

  • Distilled water


  1. Add essential oils & aloe to 8 oz. amber glass bottle (If it’s too strong you can use a larger bottle)

  2. Fill to bottle neck with distilled water.

  3. Shake before each use. You can swish around & then swallow if you want.

Invigorating Hand Soap


  • 4 oz. amber glass long neck pump bottle

  • Unscented liquid Castile soap

  • 1 tsp vegetable glycerin

  • 15 drops Melrose essential oil

  • 10 drops Orange essential

  • 10 drops Grapefruit essential oil

  • Distilled water


  1. Fill bottle ¾ full with Castile soap

  2. Add vegetable glycerin and essential oils

  3. Add enough distilled water to have mixture just below the bottle neck.

Thieves Deodorant


  • ¼ cup baking soda

  • ¼ cup arrowroot powder

  • 4 Tbsp. melted unrefined organic coconut oil (JUST melted, do not over heat)

  • 12 drops Thieves essential oil

  • 12 drops Tea Tree essential oil


  1. Combine baking soda & arrowroot.

  2. Pour in coconut oil, mix well & add essential oils. Store in glass jar.

  3. Apply directly to underarms

DIY Shaving Cream


  • 1/4 cup organic coconut milk

  • 1/3 cup liquid unscented castile soap

  • 1 tsp organic jojoba oil

  • 10 drops of essential oil of choice (Palmarosa or Rosemary would be good)


Combine all ingredients & store in a glass bottle. Shake before each use. Take desired amount & lather onto moist skin.


  • 1 cup liquid unscented castile soap

  • 1 Tbsp organic Rosehip Seed or Avocado oil

  • 2 drops each of Frankincense, Lavender & Rosemary


Mix together & store in a glass bottle. Shake before each use.

DIY Body Wash


  • ½ cup liquid unscented castile soap

  • ¾ cup water

  • 2 Tbsp organic jojoba oil

  • 3 drops essential oil of choice


Mix together in a glass container
